About me, Stewart Orr

Introduction

Hi, I’m Stewart Orr - a professional Web Designer & Developer from St. Albans in the UK. I am a highly enthusiastic and creative individual with almost seven years of strong commercial experience working for a variety of different companies. I am passionate about creating beautiful, accessible web sites using W3C Web Standards.

Background

I started creating web sites in 1998 when I really should have been studying for my A-levels in Chemistry, Biology and Maths and it has continued to be my hobbie and my career. I have been designing and developing web sites commercially for over seven years and have worked for some great companies and gained some great skills and experiences. I really love what I do and am very passionate about my work! I created this site as a showcase for the things I have worked on and as a playground for the projects I am currently involved in.

Present

Currently, I’m working as a full time Senior Web Designer for Comet plc - an electrical retailer based in the UK. I am part of a team that is responsible for the company’s websites, from day-to-day maintenance, to driving new features and new content.

In my free time, I enjoy learning new things and spending my time creating great websites and improving my skills and understanding in Web Standards. Other than that, I can either be found faffing around with my car, reading about my car, playing Battlefield 2 or spending time with my partner, Claire. I enjoy occasionally visiting the gym, going out with my friends and spending my money on ebay.
